They've ran out of things to do for Assail, so his cousins pick up Sola as a last ditch effort. Also, Vishous and Jane are on the rocks and a new enemy is running around killing vampires every night. I found most of this incredibly dull with moments of vast annoyance. I spent the middle portion of this book bored out of my mind, wishing she would just move things along already. Also, the fact that Ward appears to be trying to drag this series out instead of ending it should be criminal. Ward is just adding on to this heaping shit pile with things that no one should care about. -There is now a new bad thing they have to deal with -A new character introduced that is trying to cause trouble. -Muhrdher is back, with some air time this time -reintroduces Butch's old partner and then once again does nothing with him Ward also pulls so many medical miracles out of a hat in this series it is becoming ridiculous. The idea that the mating bond is this all powerful thing that can snap a person back into their body just because they are re-introduced to their love is dumb. I never really cared for Assail and Sola's story, mostly because it just took up air time that could be better put to use ending this series. Thankfully it is done with and we can move on instead of continually bringing it up all the time. Hopefully. Please? Look, I love Vishous bunches. I just hate the way the author handles his story all the time. It is always handled poorly, in a way the author thinks it should go instead of the direction it is going. The way it is handled in this story is just a bandaid. We're back in the "hormones are deciding my every move, consequences and hard work to keep our relationship is for future us to deal with" stage of Vishous and Jane's relationship. Nothing was solved. It was poorly handled. Everything is bulldozed over in order to make way for the way the author says it is going to be without planning or forethought or balance. Just fucking get Vishous and Butch together and be done with it already. This was not a great addition to the series, it was just another addition that should not have been. She needs to end the series, not add on. The more I wrote in this review, the more upset and annoyed I got at this book. The characters are shitheads, the plot is waning, and all I see is more problems getting added into this series. I miss when I liked this series enough to recommend it to others. There's a lot of storylines intermingling in this book, including addressing the nasty turn in Vishous/Jane's relationship in her previous book. Honestly I had put off reading this book after 'The Chosen'. I'm happy to say this was a great read, I hate the new evil they are all facing but I liked Assail and Sola's story as well as Vishous and Jane fixing what was broken. Sola and Assail!! I was so excited for this book. there wasn't one thing I didn't like about it. I also love the backstory with Vishious and Jane. I love that they reconnected. Anyway back to Assail and Sola....their relationship was everything I hoped it would be and more. I also loved that they had each others back!! Great addition to BDB!! Book 16 in the Black Dagger Brotherhood series. Assail is in a coma and his cousins go for Sola, telling her that he has terminal cancer to get her to come to him. Throe had laid his hands on an ancient tome and is using a spell to summon entities which will help him eliminate the Brotherhood and take Wrath's place. Vishous and Jane have drifted apart. And Lassiter has a new role to fill. And there is more to Boo than meets the eye... ei arvosteluja | lisää arvostelu

#1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER - New enemies rise and desire burns in the latest thrilling novel of the paranormal romance series the Black Dagger Brotherhood. Sola Morte, former cat burglar and safecracker, has given up her old life on the wrong side of the law. On the run from a drug lord's family, she is lying low far from Caldwell, keeping her nose clean and her beloved grandmother safe. Her heart, though, is back up north, with the only man who has ever gotten through her defenses: Assail, son of Assail, who never meant to fall in love--and certainly not with a human woman. But they have no future, and not just because she doesn't know he is a vampire, but because he is not about to stop dealing arms to the Black Dagger Brotherhood. Fate, however, has other plans for them. When Assail falls into a coma and lingers on the verge of death, his cousins seek out Sola and beg her to give him a reason to live. The last thing she wants is a return to her past, but how can she leave him to die? As a lethal new enemy of the vampires shows its face, and the Brotherhood needs Assail back on his feet, Sola finds herself not only a target, but a mission-critical force in a war she doesn't understand. And when Assail's truth comes out, will she run from the horror . . . or follow her heart into the arms of the male who loves her more than life itself? No library descriptions found. |
