Different than the movie. The movie is good and the book is equally good but they are not equal. ( )

I read this book because I really liked the film but unfortunately I was disappointed. I think the main problem I had with this book were the characters. Both Noah and Allie seem to have exactly the same voice and personality no matter how much we're told differently and both characters are extremely shallow. On top of that Noah seems not to change at all in terms of thoughts from the age of 31 to the age of nearly 80 – he thinks like an old man throughout the whole book. Another thing that bothered me was the plot for it was way too predictable and the end of the book was obvious from a chapter or two in. The writing was quite bad too and just seemed to go on and on forever. In fact, I found myself constantly checking how many pages I had left before I'd be finished with the book!
No matter how annoying I found this book (and despite the 2 star rating) I actually did enjoy parts of it. It was a sweet little love story that I'm sure loads of people would enjoy, just not people like me who like suspense, some action and big revelations in their books because this one has none of that. So don't be put off reading it because you just might love it :) ( )
