Bellissimo, simpatico, divertente, dolce, sfacciato, questo libro mi è piaciuto tantissimo, mi ha fatto ridere e divertire, mi ha colpito al cuore e mi ha conquistato in tutto e per tutto.
Scritto molto bene, con una trama ben costruita e calibrata anche nella progressione della vicenda, con dialoghi serrati, spigliati e anche molto spiritosi.
I due protagonisti, la frizzante Ruby e l’imponente Bancroft, sono ben caratterizzati e definiti e si fanno amare sotto tutti i punti di vista così come i due inconsueti animaletti da “compagnia”, Francesca e Tiny, veramente particolari e simpaticissimi.
Un libro che consiglio a chi si vuol divertire con dolcezza ma anche intelligenza.

I found Helena Hunting’s voice completely hilarious. Ruby’s wealthy father wants her to give it up with the dream of the arts and come work for him and wife number who-knows-how-many at his pharmaceuticals firm. She’s in desperate need of a place to stay. She meets hunky guy Bancroft at a friend’s wedding dinner who happens to be high on a lot of cold medicine… and has a super-yucky sneeze in her face… tiny warning… this book is SUPER HILARIOUS and so cute, but not for the easily grossed out. But they have great chemistry, are super funny together, and he offers her a place to crash for a few weeks in exchange for some pet-sitting. If you are an animal lover, you will adore the ferret scenes. And the natural chemistry is fun to read.

There is no doubt that this author can write some humor and snark. Her characters are always spirited and unique. I enjoyed this first peek into the Mills brothers and cannot wait to read more. I did struggle a bit with Ruby's friend, Amelia in this book and wondered about her upcoming nuptials and how it was changing her. That seemed to be a focus of the story that I didn't think really needed to be there. (

It is a light, fluffy cute story. I enjoyed myself but didn't find myself all hot and bothered or angsty. I like that kind if effect. And someone needs to kick Armie's are. Twice.

Shacking Up is a romantic comedy starring two leads who were born into upper crust families but do things a little differently than many surrounding them. They aren't has worried about expectations of what's proper. Ruby is trying to become a broadway star. She's having trouble getting a role. When her father cuts her off, she ends up live-in pet setting for Bancroft. This story is full of dirty inner monologue and exotic animals and has plenty of sexual tension and humorous situations. If you're a fan of lighthearted romance, you should check it out.
