Know what? I actually found a few commonalities with the author. In Braving the Wilderness she discusses the rewards of being belonging but also the rewards of carefully having a prolific conversation with those who hold a different belief. I plan to implement her advice when next the opportunity arises. I’ve already put a hold on my next book by Ms.Brown. (  ) Carmenere | Feb 29, 2024 | I have been a big Brené Brown fan, but as others have noted, this seemed a bit of a throwaway, culled from leftover scraps of other works. And much of it seems, yes, a bit arrogant, too-Christian, and white-privileged. There were some interesting ideas, but I think a lot more of it has become irrelevant (or at least quaintly antiquated) in the wake of the onslaught of COVID. Sorry, this one just did not impress, except, too often, in a rather irritating manner. I have watched Ms. Brown on Podcasts, Ted Talks, etc., and sometimes I forget she’s an author not a dry-humored comic. Personally, I think she is hilarious, perhaps not everyone’s cup of tea because she pulls no punches. Those who are not ready to look in the mirror and take a hard stance at the root of their issues, likely won’t mesh with what Ms. Brown has to say.
