I've wanted a book of PASSENGERS for a long time. I finally came across the screenplay today. I loved it. Highly recommended.

Jim Preston finds himself in a very bad place. He's supposed to be traveling to a future world and he gets woken up on his starship and has no way to get back into hypersleep. He is so lonely.

Aurora Dunn (Lane) gets woken up from her hypersleep. She doesn't understand why no one else is awake. She finds Jim and together they try to figure out what went wrong and how to get back to sleep.

Aurora finds out that Jim awoke her on purpose, now what is she going to do with that information?

As in a lot of books or screenplays, this one has a different ending than the movie that everyone is familiar with. There are several parts that are different, but I like it all the more.

This is one of my favorite movies of all time. My family thinks I have a crush on the leading male character, but I think I like it simply because it's a futuristic love story that is well done and without a lot of detracting foul language that is used in so many books and movies today, nor does it have the socially acceptable mental illnesses that I don't care to read about. I still wouldn't mind a print book of Passengers. I definitely would purchase a copy or 2.

Sweet SFF which is not that usual ( )

Tras el impacto con un gran meteorito, una nave espacial interestelar que viaja con piloto automático a un planeta lejano transportando a miles de personas, tiene una avería en una de las cápsulas de hibernación. Como resultado Jim Preston (Chris Pratt), uno de los pasajeros, se despierta noventa años antes del final del viaje. Estando completamente solo en la nave, Jim intenta por todos los medios volver a hibernar, pero tras un año desiste. Su estado mental comienza a flaquear al tiempo que comienza a obsesionarse con despertar a Aurora Lane (Jennifer Lawrence), una de las pasajeras dentro de su cápsula de hibernación.

I enjoyed this film though I know it's had bad reviews and is unpopular because of the main characters decision mid way. But let's face it, films don't do deep and meaningful consideration of moral dilemmas - not ones intended as "blockbusters" anyway. Read a book for that.
It would have been interesting though if the gender had been swapped - the female woke up first - would she have approached the problem differently? Would the film be less controversial then? I don't know. ( )
