Serena Jones, an FBI agent with the St Louis Art Crimes Division, is supposed to be on vacation on Martha's Vineyard. But when her dad's good friend is found dead, they aren't sure if he was murdered or if it was accidental. Events happen that put her in danger but she has help from coworkers and family. Who is behind the attacks and the antiquities smuggling in the area? Will Serena and her team find out in time? Title: Over Maya Dead Body (Serena Jones Mystery #3) Author: Sandra Orchard Pages: 348 Year: 2017 My rating is 3 out of 5 stars. This is the third book in the Serena Jones Mystery series. Serena works for the FBI as an agent in the artistic crimes division. On this adventure, she is with her parents on the way to a wedding of her dad’s best friend. Upon arrival, said friend has just been found dead. Is it murder or an accident? Serena is upset over the death as she spent many summers with Uncle Jack and has lots of great memories. She can’t let his death remain in limbo as to whether it was accidental or not. Unbeknownst to her, the two men vying for her affections, Nate and Tanner, show up separately to help her solve the case. As Serena asks questions, more questions pop up. She also is dealing with two men who seem interested in her one minute, then turn cold the next. Her Aunt Martha is also active in seeking out clues, which adds some funny moments into the story. Of course, everything gets wrapped up at the end of the story and Serena finally does choose a man, but I’m not telling which one! I really enjoyed the first two books in the series, but this one just didn’t draw me in. I kept putting the book down, picking it up and hoping I could get into the story, but it didn’t happen. The going back and forth between the two guys was drawn out too long for my taste. The story just couldn’t hold my interest. I will continue to read books by this author as I liked the first two books in this series as well as her Port Astor series. The mystery portion was okay with some exciting moments, and I love the character of Aunt Martha. I would like to see a series featuring her! A great mystery that will keep you reading and guessing. I love seeing what Serena is up to next as she tries to take a break from the rigors of the FBI only to find herself caught up in a death tied to a smuggling ring. She finds herself more deeply involved than she plans and then to complicate things, she finds herself the romantic target of the men in her life and she has to juggle them, the case, and her initial reason for being at Martha's Vineyard the celebration of an engagement. A real page turner. I received a copy from the publisher, the review is my own. This is such a fun series. I love this type of mystery. I love Serena but I do hope she figures out which guy is right for her. Some people just have a hard time taking a vacation. Serena must solve a case while on vacation because it is her fathers best friend. I love all the characters in this story. I especially like Serena, Aunt Martha and Nate. I received this book from Revell and the author for a fair and honest opinion that I gave of my own free will. ei arvosteluja | lisää arvostelu

A star off because the love triangle got a bit over the top for me, which is to be expected considering it's the last book. That and some romanticviolent content that made me a bit uncomfortable, and a rather unrealistic plot twist that was annoying.
Orchard definitely keeps you on your toes throughout this book, just like the last one. Lots of crazy plot twists and turns.
I really liked how the Christian themes came through a lot more in this book than the others. I rather missed it in the first two books, as it was very back-burner, but it was really well done in this one.
All in all, though, I greatly enjoyed this book!
