In this international bestseller from the critically acclaimed Little People, BIG DREAMS series, discover the life of Amelia Earhart, the American aviation pioneer. When Amelia was young, she liked to imagine she could stretch her wings and fly away like a bird. As a grown woman, she set a new female world record for flying up to 14,000 feet. She also flew across the Atlantic and the Pacific oceans, and eventually undertook the most dangerous mission of all: to fly all the way around the world. This moving book features stylish and quirky illustrations and extra facts at the back, including a biographical timeline with historical photos and a detailed profile of the aviator's life. Little People, BIG DREAMS is a best-selling series of books and educational games that explore the lives of outstanding people, from designers and artists to scientists and activists. All of them achieved incredible things, yet each began life as a child with a dream. This empowering series offers inspiring messages to children of all ages, in a range of formats. The board books are told in simple sentences, perfect for reading aloud to babies and toddlers. The hardcover versions present expanded stories for beginning readers. The story of "the most famous female pilot of the twentieth century" describes her fascination with flight and her determination to fly, from her first ride in a biplane to her final flight (handled delicately, see below).

"But Amelia wasn't afraid of living a thousand adventures. So she flew on like a bird, farther than anyone had gone before...never to return." ( )

I found this to be a very cute short book for young readers who are learning about the first women to fly a plane. I loved the easy and cute pictures as they were engaging and simple. The plot was a timeline of Amelia's life and leading up to her flying for the first time. It was very informational in a way which young kids would be able to easily follow along and understand. The lnaguage for the book was very appropriate and easy for younger and older readers. ( )

From a very young age Amelia Earheart had a deep fascination with flying. She got an opportunity to ride in a plane and fell in love. She went to school and learned to fly. She became the first woman to fly up to 14,000 feet and the first woman to fly over Atlantic Ocean. She was an inspiration and believed that every woman should be able to fly. The end of the book includes a comlete timeline of her life and accomplishments. This is a good easy read for young students. It teaches that your dreams can become a reality with hard work and dedication. The visuals are perfect for young students. ( )

I read two books about Amelia Earhart. In this book it was comic book form which I thought was great for our younger readers! The story talked about how vibrate Amelia was as a little girl. How her love for airplanes came from her dad introducing her to them. The other book I read about Amelia told her story in a regular picture book form, but also had little comic bubbles on each page of what a character was saying. In a way this was similar to this book on the comic stand point.

This book is in comic book form which is very fun to read for kids. I loved that it was colorful and easy to read. This book is about Amelia Earhart, an adventurous girl who loved anything that went fast. She found her love for airplanes when her father introduced how exciting it was to be in an airplane. She became handy with working on plans and flying a plane began to be so easy to her that she broke a world record. But since she wasn't allowed to fly because she was a woman, she turned the worlds views around. She went through many difficulties but made it through. I love this book because Amelia never gave up and it teaches kids to never give up. ( )
