This remarkable book, originally published in Germany as a short history for the younger generation, presents an objective, inside look at the Nazi experience. This book wasn't written as a scholarly work. It was written for schoolchildren, so anyone could pick this book up and understand it. Great job. I enjoyed it as an adult. ( )

996 The Burden of Guilt: A Short History of Germany 1914-1945, by Hannah Vogt (read 27 Jan 1969) I did no post-reading note on this book, so cannot tell you how it struck me. Does the fact that I remember little specific about the book indicate it was not too memorable? Probably. ( )
