GENRE: Historical and Contemporary Romance; Time Travel; Scottish Romance
SETTING: 21st century Virginia; 15th century Scotland
CENTRAL FEMALE CHARACTER: SKY ELIZABETH MacKINTOSH – gift of sensing feelings in other; dedicated to family; nearing the age of 21;
CENTRAL MALE CHARACTER: STRUAN SUTHERLAND – committed to being a modern day man; drop dead gorgeous; a blacksmith; has a secret he does not want to share.
SYNOPSIS: Over hearing about death after a wedding, Sky races to inform her father. Instead, she lands in a pile of horse poop in the middle of a jousting tournament. Her rescuer? Struan, a man that recognizes the shimmering of colors that she just fell through.
WHAT I LIKED: A person that likes to stay where he is and the why of his choice.
WHAT I DID NOT LIKE: Katherine was not mentioned very much in 15th century (disappointing); Inappropriate language not necessary in an already great plot.
OVERALL RATING: (5) stars because unlike with book 1,2,3 this book involves the conflict of traveling in time as the plot slowly thickens. Would she; would he; would they? ( )

Weary of travel and sore from sitting upon her palfrey’s saddle-clad back, Sky Elizabeth shifted yet again, trying to ease her discomfort. She shivered against the damp chill, and her gaze strayed to the keep looming against the distant horizon. The sight of Kildrummy Castle, soon to be her home, brought her no joy, and her heart grew heavy at the thought of her betrothed.

We came to help Sky, and because her presence here means there’s a slim possibility we might see our daughter again
Seems I’ve fallen in lust with the earl of Fife’s eldest daughter.
Heroes aren’t born; they’re forged through trial and tempered by adversity,
And let us no’ forget my skill upon a medieval mattress.” He winked and waggled his brow. “I’m most excellent at bed sport, aye?
Keep the gates closed, and warn the villagers to scatter into the hills or to come within the walls of the keep should we catch even a glimpse of an Erskine.
The MacKintosh and Sutherlands have a battle to fight on the morrow, and this might be our only chance to have speech with one another.
You’re a very lucky lad. Whoever did your triage care did everything exactly right, though I must say the stitches are a bit . . . unorthodox.

She and Struan had it all: family, love and work they were passionate about. Sky sent up a prayer of thanks. Aye, she truly was a lucky woman, and she’d do everything in her power to hold on tight to the gifts she’d been given.
