It mainly follows an astute logician and detective for hire, Vivek, who has broad experience and unique skills like being able to precisely identify human meat and organs—prepared in a variety of circumstances—based off of taste alone. There was this one memorable scene, in which a teacher seduces a younger Vivek. On the next page it shows Vivek screwing a bearded red head, in threesomes, trying sodomy over a pentagram, among other creative situations. While he engages in all those acts, he casually explains that while technically the teacher seducing him was sexual assault, she queried for consent at every step and then goes on to rant about feelings and how it's conductive to logical thinking and useful for the detective. Then it cuts to Vivek and a male coworker lying in bed, when they receive a phone call from their other two female coworkers—lying in bed together. It's funny because Vivek is always portrayed like Sherlock Homes—twenty steps ahead, all serious, no business. I never thought of him and his coworkers (all with unique personalities) in that way. Finally get my hands on vol. 2 and finished it in one run. Warren definitely takes the story to an exciting place and can't wait to see how it will continue. Injection is definitely a must-read. With it's story, characters, dialogues and commentaries about the Now, it already made itself a classic in my eyes. this may be the most impressive graphic novel series currently in production; certainly Warren Ellis is this generation's best writer across the board. the story has echoes of Gaiman's The Sandman and of Alan Moore's League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, while remaining wholly original in storyline and in mood. volume one was centered on the futurist Maria McBride, and details the origins of the team, whereas volume two focuses on the Holmesian detective Vivek Headland, but it also becomes clear here that the story has ominously entered the point of view of the AI the team created and lost control of, The Injection, and how busy it is now learning all the elements the human population fears, in the interests of control, and also learning how they think, which is why it's particularly interested in Viv throughout. a seamlessly brilliant collaboration between Ellis's story, artist Shalvey, colorist Bellaire, and letterer Fonografiks, and the result is spectacular. ei arvosteluja | lisää arvostelu

"Consulting detective Vivek Headland, originally of the group that caused the release of a haunted artificial intelligence into the world, lives and works in New York, dealing with all the strangeness that very strange city can throw at him. But a case involving a stolen ghost and human deli meat causes him to call for help, as the details of the investigation reveal a new battleground between humanity and The Injection."--Amazon.
