This nonfiction book contains the stories of the 10 U.S. presidents who have been the target of assassination attempts and successes. Jones describes each incident in a clear narrative style explaining the motivations of the assailant, the details of the attack, and the effects of it. The death of each of the 4 assassinated Presidents was a huge shock to the country and over the years has resulted in tighter security for the president. The 25th ammendment to the constitution was adopted in 1967 which made attempting to kill the president punishable by death. It also established proceedures to be followed in the event the President is unable to do his job.
