One does not normally think of poetry and non-fiction as a common combination but it is done so skillfully in this book. Each poem is written in a style that reflects upon the festival and the paintings are detailed and beautiful. This book is perfect if one is teaching in a school in New Orleans because there are so many festivals that take place down here. This is a book that helps us learn more about different festivals around the world that are practiced in many different cultures. As we read on, we discover why these festivals are relevant and what they mean. We also start to see what these people do during the time of their festivals. Children not only love to learn about their own culture, but they also enjoy learning about other diverse cultures. Teach them about diversity by reading to your child "Festivals" and help them understand that other cultures celebrate and practice things just like us except they do it for different reasons or in different ways. näyttää 2/2 ei arvosteluja | lisää arvostelu
