I really enjoyed the infographics in the book, the bar graphs and such, though the subject matter was rather grizzly (how much of the population was killed during each power change? maybe you don't want to know, but if you do, the graphs are very helpful.) It certainly explains how while many empires crumbled, the Chinese survived as an identity and a power. I also like the "in" on some Chinese concepts, or codes, that Liu explains throughout the book.
The art is crisp and informative, the panels actually move, when not in actual physical space, in information space.
Recommended for those who want to know something about China and Chinese history, but have no idea where to begin, and those who like strange-seeming life and government philosophies. (
