The authors biggest paralyzing fear was losing her young husband while he served in Vietnam. They had a promise, a plan, to meed in Hawaii where the water meets the sand once he had leave. It was while her daughter was with relatives and she was in a clinic for depression that she learned her fear had come true. Larry had been shot down over Laos.
Most of us would curl up into a ball and crumble ..... not her. She struggled her way thru the twisty roads of sobriety and sanity to earn her doctorate! She did her husband proud as 'they' say....and in 2006 she kept her promise about being with him..... where the water meets the sand. (
