The Little Red Hen is a story about a Hen who has three lazy friends, a cat, a dog and a pig. The story starts with the hen planting wheat and asks her friends for help which they say no, Next, the hen asks for help tending to the wheat, again her friends say no. Then the wheat has grown and she asks her friends again for help harvesting the wheat to which they again reply no. The hen then has the wheat made into flour to make bread. She asks her fiends to help her make the bread and they say no. At the end of the book the little red hen's friends want to eat some of her bread and the hen replies no!

I loved this story growing up. The illustrations are very cute for young children and the story also teaches children to always help their friends out in their time of need.

In the classroom the teacher could do a lesson on helping your friends and being a good friend. The children could do a group effort reading book.

Treasury of bedtime stories includes many stories. One of the Traditional stories I read was The Three Little Pigs. The Three Little Pigs is about three pigs who's mother told them it was time for them to build their own houses. The first pig built a straw house which was blown down by the wolf. The second pig built a stick house which was also blown down by the big bad wolf. The third pig built his house out of brick. When the wolf came to his house he could not blow the house down. Then the wolf tries to trick the pigs into coming out of their house. But each time the pig outsmarts the wolf. The wolf finally gets mad and decides to come down the chimney. The little pig out does him again and hangs a pot of boiling water and the wolf falls in it.

The Three Little Pigs is a story every child should know! I love The Three Little Pigs and love how the story ends.

In the class the teacher could do a lesson on not letting strangers into your house. Also not talking and trusting people you do not know.
