Corrigan Magic is actually an entire real story in itself. It could technically probably be read without having no prior knowledge of the story. This was probably because Helen Harper had no choice but to make it its own story. This is the time in the series where Mack and Corrigan have the least amount of story together.

Corrigan kind of really annoyed me, though. Helen Harper is trying really, really hard to make Corrigan this sweet, kind, thoughtful guy who is always looking after others before he looks after himself. Then Mack comes in and he is an angry beast who becomes insufferable and high handed. Every time. Harper is just trying to set up the end of the series so it makes sense this time around, but in the meantime it is just aggravating to have these two snap at each other all the time. ( )
