I enjoy short stories and this book had some great stories. It was easy to read and thought that the author did a good job. My favorite short story was War Love Story and The Last to Go. I felt like I was there, the author described the scenic in details. Each story gave you a different perspective.

The author, Haidji, beginning with a mere sentence which essentially serves of the title can also be described as being the quintessence for each of her 18 fleshed-out flash fictions delivering quite a punch.

The best way to read each of these stories is not to rush through them, as you might miss something in the process; and to get the full impact of what Haidji is writing is to read it a second time. The reason for this I believe is her thought-provoking style of writing, which is something you don’t read that often. There’s a certain wonderful mixture and balance in the detailed imagery that’s created in your mind, an imagery where you find yourself pondering over what you’ve just read.

A good adjective to describe these short stories is to say they’re quite enlightening. Enlightening to the extent that you’ll find yourself relating to the stories on an intimate personal level.

For having given her readers a marvelous excursion of your own existence, I’m happy to give Haidji 5 STARS for her endeavor here.

Each short story is a novel in itself. Beautifully written with so much welcome detail within a few pages, and always escalating to a very thought provoking conclusion.
Haidji's storylines are very intriguing in a dream-like way, captivating the reader from the onset. Her writing is simple yet very effective on emotions taking you on an inspirational journey.
After the end of each fascinating tale I couldn't wait to start the next.

I absolutely loved this book! The stories are only a couple of pages long, but each story has a different meaning and if you re-read them they can have a different meaning. I can see myself rereading this book over and over again and getting different meaning each time. It really makes you think when you read it. I plan on quoting this book because it has so much meaning in it. I can't wait to start on book number 2! Thank you for letting me read your work Haidji I really enjoyed it! ( )
