As others have pointed out, it could easily be larger by putting things into context rather better. I can understand how the author might wish to focus on a single topic without getting bogged down in a rather complex topic, but he tends to be a bit too terse. Unfortunately, the WWII plans that are mentioned in the title are not treated in more detail than the other anecdotes, which is disappointing given the book's title. The stories are written in a light tone, which is fitting to the largely comical aspects of the US-Canada border issues. However, this tone also makes it hard to follow and understand the stories, especially for readers not already familiar with the events.
