I gave up on this book half way through chapter 14 when Belinda, who after trusting her life to a complete stranger, then practically drags him into bed at the first opportunity, as well as insisting that she would prefer to stay with him than go home, suddenly admits to having been sexually abused by a priest as a teenager; therefore has trust issues. Are you joking! I feel the author is trying too hard to make it exciting by putting every possible scenario in the story. It was really too much. The perfect couple with every possible dysfunctional family member or past / present situation that should relate to most readers. If Darley is trying to write another 24hr TV series, then he needs to slow down and get real. Hold On, did not grip me or get me believing in the characters. It was all just too unreal, forced and unbelievably convenient. If any has read this book and tells me it gets better I may try again. Even the baby bear story was just corny.
