This is a short, fun novella set in the Stargate: SG-1 universe. Just before Christmas, Daniel discovers an Asgard warning at a dig site in Iceland. After raising his concerns with General Hammond he receives approval for a trip to the site to determine whether a threat exists, and soon the rest of the team decide to accompany him. Between possessive egotistical archaeologists, blizzards that cut off the site, and a dead body that isn’t quite as inanimate as one would expect, SG-1 find themselves on another adventure where Earth hangs in the balance. At times this reads a bit like a fanfic, and the descriptions get redundant. At other points, the personalities and voices for Jack, Daniel, Carter, and Teal’c are spot on, with the mix of science, action, team dynamics, and humor that fans of Stargate-SG1 love. ( )
