Universities are known for silos - faculty work within a sub-discipline within their discipline which is within their department, which is part of their college. This "skinny silo effect" means faculty often complain no one else on campus understands what they do. The approach some are using to break down the silos is to begin to work across the disciplinary boundaries. What once was called interdisciplinarity now often takes the name transdisciplinarity since we find some commonalities exist between disciplines we might think of as widely different like philosophy and human resources. This book takes a detailed look at how we might break down barriers and begin to work with colleges across campus and at institutions far and wide. ei arvosteluja | lisää arvostelu
