The boat goes on a journey throughout nature. The story uses vivid pictures of nature to show a journey about the boat. The boy travels with the boat on this journey. The book uses repetition, makes a connection with the real world. The book is for ages 3-5. ( ) A good example of realistic fiction because it follows a toy boat's path down a river, noting all the things it sails past. This is a story that is reasonable true to life, since many children probably send toys down rivers, or at least think about the path a river takes and all the things that would drift by (like "Milo and Otis"). A story like this can help spark imagination in a child, thinking about a boat trip or a walk and all the things they might see along the way. This plot does not really have a beginning, middle, and end. Instead, it follows a sort of repetition and a series of all the things the toy sailboat passes, such as beetles, a school of fish, a newt, a fox, otters, and black bears. Then the little boat reaches the end, the ocean. There it is picked up by some children and then has a new home. This repetitive nature of the book is fun, seeing the progression of the journey this toy takes and where it ends up. Media: acrylic ei arvosteluja | lisää arvostelu
