When his cousin’s wife asks the Hellions for help for her friend Caroline, Rex takes it upon himself to be her protector. What started out as wanting to be able to protect Caroline, as he was unable to Tesse, things changed when Rex found himself actually liking her and eventually could only think of her – no more just wanting to screw anything that with a vagina.
Caroline was roommates in college with Delilah and Savannah. But she’s always kept big secrets from them about her past. I’m not going to go into great detail as I think it would spoil the reading experience but they were some doozies. Her current problem is her boss is a sexual predator and has set his sights on her. Turns out he wasn’t her only problem and seems someone else was keeping an even bigger secret from her.
Both Rex and Caroline have more than their fare share of demons that has contributed to them making more than a few mistakes in their lives. What was beautiful to read was they both ended up helping to slay each other dragons. From start to finish they ended up being different people who found that someone they could love and rely on.
