I like this book because of the beautiful pictures and because the author wrote it in the first person. It feels like Hercules is talking to you. ( )

This was a fantastic children's book that takes the reader through the life of one of the most well known characters ever. I thought the author did a fantastic job of explaining the beginning, middle and end of Hercules' legend. I also thought the author did a nice job of not being too violent in her protrayal, but no too boring either. The illustrations helped tell the story and yet weren't too graphic. ( )

The the son of the God Zues, Hercules has to battle to regain his honor. The book has beautiful illustrations, but there is way too much text and information to try and retell the story. I would find it difficult. The book is in my own private collection and yes my fourth graders do read this, I would probably not let younger readers read this story because it is pretty violent.

This book included great big action packed illustrations that very much enhanced the tale of Hercules. The perspective always made Hercules seem big and strong. Definitely must have illustrations for this book.

Good mythology unit book; disclaimer on possibility of disturbing mythological violence important to make. ( )
