She was invited into a little shop owned by a Mr. Ishizawa, and allowed to buy one of the "treasures"
from the 10 cent shelf. "It was among the poorer and junkier of all the poor and junky little shops
owned by Orientals on the quiet strip laid like a ribbon along the beach. Mr. Ishizawa bowed and
smiled constantly, and his bows became even deeper when he learned we were Mrs. Holbrook's
grandchildren". The character of Mr. Ishizawa is reminiscent of Mr. Ito from the story
"What Happened to Miss Browning" from the Summer 1967 issue of Carleton Miscellaney.
Article is illustrated with nice photo of Fisher at age three, leaning on her Grandmother Holbrook's skirt.
