Of the over a couple of dozen cookbooks in our shelves, this general cookbook is one of the ones we've used the most over the years, certainly in the top four. Of those four, this is my go-to cookbook, the one I find easiest to use when I'm looking for basic recipes. The section tabs make it very easy to find recipes--especially since there's an index of each section's recipes on the section cover page. Inside covers with such information as Weights and Measures and Substitutions, as well as sections featuring "Special Helps," "Meal Planning and Nutrition" and "Table Settings and Entertainment" make sure useful information is at your fingertips. Classic cookbook that makes a very good introduction to cooking. Easier to use than the much lauded Joy of Cooking. (
