The big picture of the book Good Deeds Scouts Help Their Neighbors is it's important to help one another out. I liked this book for a few reasons. The first reason was organized with multiple mini conflicts and solutions. On every page Papa got into a sticky situation, and then the scouts had to help him. For example, he got caught under the fence, then the scouts said "We will help you". Variations of these situations occur on every page creating a sense of repetition and strict organization. Another reason I liked the book was the illustrations enhance the story, and help the reader follow along. The illustrations are very detailed and show every part of the story- the pages have multiple illustrations on the pages to show the rise of the mini conflicts and the solutions. Finally, the book is told from 3rd person point of view which makes the text more engaging, and interesting to read. The author includes a lot of dialogue in the 3rd person which makes it feel like your watching the characters act it out. For example, at one point Papa says "YEOW...There goes the bee!" This kind of dialogue helps imagine whats going on and how he is saying it. ( ) ei arvosteluja | lisää arvostelu
In three separate stories, the Good Deed Scouts try to help Papa win the honey contest, help Mama with her errands, and help Widow McBear open a homeless shelter. Kirjastojen kuvailuja ei löytynyt. |
