It is labeled as a K-3 grade level, but I honestly think it is to changeling for those grade levels maybe third grade would be okay but not K-2. I get the point of the book, but the story line did not make much sense to me. The author was so focused on making the words rhyme and making anagrams throughout the story that the story didn't really flow well. The point of the book was to tell a story about a young boy who couldn't understand anagrams and words, but in the end he still did not understand the words. It just wasn't well put together or maybe I just didn't understand the book, but I didn't like it or enjoy it either way. ( ) Author Mark Shulman and illustrator Adam McCauley, who also collaborated on Mom and Dad Are Palindromes, join forces again and return to the adventures of that same wordy family here. When Robert (or Bert), is asked by his grandmother to fetch his Aunt (a nut!), he is faced with a dilemma: he doesn't have an aunt! Confronting all sorts of anagram madness over the course of his madcap adventure, he eventually brings her a Although I haven't read the earlier book by this team, I would assume, after reading Ann and Nan Are Anagrams: A Mixed-Up Word Dilemma, that it's quite a hoot! The text here is clever and playful, with lots of amusing anagram pairs scattered throughout. There are many anagrams in the artwork as well, which is boldly graphic, with vibrant colors and stylized figures and objects. All in all, this is a playful and entertaining picture-book, one I would recommend to young children who love word-play and puzzles. Nan and Ann is a fun book that plays around with anagrams on every page. The book itself does not have a developing plot besides Bert bringing something to his grandma and through his adventure he begins to spot anagrams around him. The book is carried on the anagrams that create each page. This is a great books for students to have their eyes opening to paying attentions to detail and letters in the words they use and see everyday. It makes students aware of the letters they use and how they can create their own anagrams. This would be a great book to create an activity from where students have to make their own anagrams. They could start out with just words, then a phrase, then sentences and maybe even their own short book. näyttää 4/4 ei arvosteluja | lisää arvostelu
