I can't help but laugh wryly about how the Others view humans b/c it's sooo true. I'm enjoying the friendship between Meg and Simon. I also appreciate the human pack's view of the Others and how they're trying to help fix misconceptions. (slowly and smallish but still good) Confirming the root of the drugs that is affecting the humans and earth natives alike Simon needs to find the controller. Meg is settling in and learning that what humans have come to know as "truth" about cassandra sangue may be misinformation but still has a lot to learn about her condition/addiction. I like Monty and I hope he can help the human/other relations. I'm not so sure about Dr L. I don't know if I like him or not. On to the next book I will say for people who weren't taken with the first novel and are toying with the idea of reading the second. The story line is intriguing. It answers a lot of questions I had after the first, and leaves you with more questions for the 3rd. It wasn't so much *let's find the girl* as the first one was but it did bring it up which was ugh. Over all it was way better than the first book. Not so much information dumping, and more actual story. ei arvosteluja | lisää arvostelu

"After winning the trust of the terra indigene residing in the Lakeside Courtyard, Meg Corbyn has had trouble figuring out what it means to live among them. As a human, Meg should be barely tolerated prey, but her abilities as a cassandra sangue make her something more. The appearance of two addictive drugs has sparked violence between the humans and the Others, resulting in the murders of both species in nearby cities. So when Meg has a dream about blood and black feathers in the snow, Simon Wolfgard--Lakeside's shape-shifting leader--wonders whether their blood prophet dreamed of a past attack or of a future threat. As the urge to speak prophecies strikes Meg more frequently, trouble finds its way inside the Courtyard. Now the Others and the handful of humans residing there must work together to stop the man bent on reclaiming their blood prophet--and stop the danger that threatens to destroy them all"-- Kirjastojen kuvailuja ei löytynyt. |

One of the remarks I meant to make in my review for Written in red, but forgot: I wonder what the logic is behind the terra indigene's way of putting an article in front of names? At first I thought it was just the birds doing it (calling Meg the Meg), but then later I saw that the wolves sometimes do it too, just not with Meg... ( )
