A two volume narrative of the American Civil War from the antebellum era through the assassination of President Lincoln. Immersed with the narrative are the critical events taking place within the State of Maryland. The major military campaigns as well as the social, economic, and political ramifications of the war are covered. Included are the men and women who helped shape the events of the war including; Abraham Lincoln, Clara Barton, Frederick Douglass and Robert E. Lee. Volume I covers the antebellum period through the events and battles of 1862. Volume II is to be released in 2012.
