I've already bought into the whole fall in love with a ghost thing so I have no problems with that. I say that because a lot of people seem to get mad at that element. But I say just don't read it then. Plenty of books out there and it's not like it isn't clearly spelled out on the back of the book that the guy is the ghost of a convicted serial killer. Another serial killer turns up here just after the last one. I guess the reader can buy that since the woman does work in the field of studying serial killers to find out what makes them tick so it would be more normal for her to run into them right and left than it would be for an ordinary person. The serial killer plot was secondary to the romance as in the first book. but it held together and made sense. The point here is not to figure out who the killer is so much as it is to escape him at the climax. This one was more intense than in the first book. The strength of the story continues to be the relationship between Charlie and Michael and their growing love for each other. This relationship is developing and you can tell it has caught both of them in its grasp which of course adds a great element of angst cuz after all one of them is dead. On to the next one. Not too sure how I feel about the 'ghost boyfriend" . I love ghost stories but this seems as being a tad unbelievable. Other than that small thing the story is entertaining and the character of Dr, Charlotte Stone is an interesting combination of psychologist and investigator. I just don't quiet get why the dead boyfriend helper. Charlie appears to be a great detective and a better than average psychologist, but her lack of common sense in her relationship and being pursued by a serial killer is just frustratingly wrong. Amazon's Book Description: Dr. Charlotte “Charlie” Stone has dedicated her career as a psychiatrist to exploring the darkest territory of all: the hearts and minds of serial killers. It’s a job she’s uniquely suited for, thanks to the secret talent that gives her an uncanny edge—Charlie can see dead people, whose tormented spirits cry out to her for the justice only she can provide. This blessing—or curse—gives Charlie the power to hunt down and catch madmen and murderers. It’s also turned her love life upside down by drawing her into a hopelessly passionate relationship with the lingering ghost of charismatic bad boy Michael Garland. I found the story line to be promising but the characters soooo frustrating. Charlie is an educated doctor so I was surprised how incredibly stupid she was right from the beginning. She comes home and finds the ghost of her dead serial killer friend (with benefits) on her couch and almost at the same time a woman bleeding and filthy banging on her door screaming to let in because a kidnapper/killer is after her...and Charlie leaves her to phone the cops while she carries on a conversation with this ghostly maniac and actually debates when and if she should get him in her bed again??? She ignores the police while she phones a friend to help her hold him to the Earth and that is only the beginning of her stupidly. Sorry Karen but you have ruined would could have been a great story with a ghost included. ei arvosteluja | lisää arvostelu
