I was drawn in by the description of this book. I liked the character of Ruth; she was interesting and the information given about her past did well to build her character. The beginning of the story when she was basically sold off by her aunt into marriage, and the whole plot of running away from that intended husband and how she ended up with Jackson when the train was robbed was great. I found the sex scenes were unnecessarily long and drawn out, and it felt like a lot of it was repetitive. It was an okay read, but I did skim through long descriptive areas. I was given a copy of this book for free in exchange for an honest review. ( )
I got about 100 pages in, but there were too many POVs. The author kept jumping from different characters and different scenes so no one was getting the proper character/plot development and therefore I couldn't get invested in any of them.
It was an easy and nice story and I liked the way the plot was developed. Both the heroes were likeable and strong and altough it was a romance, the "story" of the trail was well written. ( )
