The sequel to Drive (2005), it continues the same flashback style as the first book. About one-third is reprise of the first book, one-third is exposition and narration, and one-third, plot movement.

Over all this book has less action than the first. The last half of the book is definitely a page turner, and since we know how it will end (he told us in the first book) we are eager to see how he manages to stay alive until then.

I would have suggested combining the two books into one novella/short novel.

One more excellent thriller featuring Driver. He is now being hunted after years of living under false name and finally finding what might be called normal life. He is trying to find his pursuers and make an end to it but not everything is like it seems.

For Parker fans and fans of the original novel "Drive" highly recommended. (

Tras siete años apartado de la carretera, Driver regenta un próspero negocio que le permite vivir honradamente junto a su prometida Irene. El que había sido uno de los mejores especialistas de Hollywood de día y mercenario al volante para todo tipo de criminales por la noche, quizá haya conseguido alejarse para siempre de un oficio que casi le costó la vida. Pero la tan codiciada paz se desmorona cuando Irene es brutalmente asesinada. Driver, ciego de ira, deberá afrontar su destino: conducir como el mismísimo diablo hasta vengar la muerte de quien tanto le había amado.

É seguindo as derradeiras considerações de Bernie Rose que Sallis continua a saga do nosso Driver, não há mudanças, apenas adaptações: o estilo não-linear e minimalista, a essência e sina do protagonista entre o silêncio, o trágico e a violência. (
