In the previous book, Silence, Nora swore an oath that if Hank Miller (aka The Black Hand and her dad) died, she'd take his place as leader of the Nephilim race. And, naturally, he died so she became the leader. So in Finale Nora is to lead the Nephilim army to war against the fallen angels, which also means against Patch (aka fallen angel and love of her life). Naturally, she doesn't want to do this, so she and Patch devise a plan: lead everyone to believe they are no longer together and while Nora tries to convince the Nephilim not to fight the fallen angels, Patch would be finding out as much as he can about the fallen angels' plans, stopping the war before it even begins. But even the best of plans turn astray and when Nora finds herself with a supposed friend turned into unexpected enemy, and an troubling addiction to deal with, it leaves her unprepared for her most frightening journey yet... It's done. Patch and Nora's story is finished and I'm more than bit sad about that. Although, I must say it ends well and I don't find myself wishing there was another book so I guess that means it's completed. At the beginning of the book I liked Dante and when I found out he was the guy being all evil I was rally upset but he turned out to be a bit of a dick so I don't mind so much anymore and I'm glad Nora kicked his ass. Overall I enjoyed this book, yet it's not my favourite in the series. Oh, and Nora totally changes. She goes from sweet protective Nora to manipulative ass-kicking Nora. I actually think I liked the earlier Nora more, it seemed more HER - just saying. Yay Patch! Poor Scott. Vee!! Fucking Marcie. Ugh. Dante. This was an okay conclusion. It didn't flow as well as the previous books and was harder for me to get into. Nora continued to be disappointing and irritating. Everything was a mess until the end and all the action happened in a few short pages that felt rushed. The twist with Vee was obvious and felt forced. I did like Scott and would have liked to read more of him. It wasn't all terrible, Nora becoming Nephil was interesting and Patch is always great. The end mostly wrapped things up so I wasn't left with a lot of questions. I just wanted a little better final book after the first 3 were so good. So, after my last status update, I went upstairs to my room sat on bed and told myself, "Monica, you must sit here and read this book for at least an hour, no getting up to get water, no bathroom breaks, no nothing." In that hour, this book finally managed to suck me in, and it's ending gave me closure. overall, a decent ending to an AMAZING series. update on Jan 22** Okay, in that last hour, it was like BAM! one shocking revelation after another. It was like: "What?Whoa, whoa, whoa! Wait a minute? Did that just happen? NOOOO, I liked him!" "ShutUp! Really? Daaang, I should've seen that coming!" "Okay, I saw that coming from a million miles away." "What? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! I really LIKED him!" "NO. *sobbing* No. Why? Why did that just have to happen?" "AWW. That's so sweet, and like, romantic and stuff." that was me, TALKING TO MYSELF, for a whole hour. ei arvosteluja | lisää arvostelu
