I know the television versions are great and now that I was intrigued by this story I will be looking into more X File stories. Anderson introduced well described characterization among his creative characters. At first I wasn’t sure how I felt about the cancer research laboratory because I love animals. However, what experiments that were done were done for the researcher son who had Leukemia which is a terminal disease. Also I hadn’t read that much of the book before I started to criticizing the content before knowing the facts behind the issues in the story. The story was clear, understandable, interesting and captivating. The author creates the story of a boy and his dog infected with a cancer, a gun-shot wound, a burnt to a crisp curing, and a form of nano-technology. Also, one of the scientists who worked this technology infected himself with the wrong nano-critters. However, it didn’t work for him and instead of healing his ailments he was breaking out with large timorous lesions oozing sliming mucus and whomever he touches dies with a plague like symptoms. Now, he believes he needs blood from either the boy or dog to cure himself. Yet in the meantime some government men disguising as activist burned down the laboratory and the boy, dog and his mother went into hiding. Now, the government and the infected plague man were hunting for the boy and dog. At this time the adventure and action scenes were building up one happening after the other throughout the second half of the book…. ( ) Juan-banjo | Nov 18, 2017 | 5/5 Stars!
