Oprah has unleashed her widely known brand and highly efficient marketing engine to tout the false worth and spread the empty message of Eckhart Tolle's book, A New Earth, ... a message that flies in the face of Biblical teaching and Christian beliefs. Oprah's New Age Church? is a critical review of Oprah's online interviews of Eckhart Tolle's book, chapter by chapter, in the form of thirty-eight articles including some that deal with the New Age philosophy in general. Contrary to New Age doctrine, there is no contradiction in Jesus or His teaching. The contradictions are all in a system of New Thought that confuses the material universe with that which is divine, promises universal peace as a result of all people doing their own thing, preaches a doctrine that is not really a belief, claims we can evolve to a higher, better level though there is no standard of what is better, and offers no evidence that its claims are true because the gurus simply know within themselves; they know. Unfortunately, many have tried Christianity and found the lifestyle too strenuous or the participants too hypocritical or the variety of denomminational doctrines too confusing and contradictory, and they have become disenchanted. While Tolle is not arguing for salvation in Christ, he offers divine hope, and that has proven to be appealing to millions.
