Very predictable. Nick stalks Cam and terrorizes a couple of people along the way. Nick is obviously kind of a whack-job but Cam has some awful incident in his past so that he’s on the edge too. The predictability is that the incident in Cam’s past is tied to an old house so of course eventually that’s where Nick takes him. And there has been the threat of the river flooding. So of course, the flood that could also have killed him saves Cam in the end. One thing that was good was that Nick didn’t die, he washed ashore downstream and dusted himself off and went to stalk someone else. Cam was the 4th or 5th guy that Nick had fixated on. And that Annalisa wasn’t in a coma. She was dead. Nick just kept fantasizing that she would wake up. Sick.

The writing though was unusual. Each chapter was of the perspective of either Cam or Nick individually. Because of this, each chapter had a very unique voice. Nick’s chapters had lots of sentence fragments and didn’t words like the and a. The first sentence of this paragraph would have been written as Writing though was unusual. And this last sentence would have started First sentence… In some ways it was disconcerting because each chapter was fairly short and just as I got used to one rhythm, it would change. ( )
