while the storyline was interesting, the dialogue between the two main characters left a lot to be desired... far too much "purring" on her part, as an example, and way too much cutesy-entendre between them. i think, had the dialogue been more believable, the book would have received another star from me... as is, i'm a bit afraid to look for the second book in the series... this one ended with a cliff-hanger, but i'm not entirely sure i'd want to subject myself to more of the same... (

This book is okay; not the best sci-fi I've read, but also not the worst. There are many holes - like humans going from terrestrial to having a lunar base, three space-faring battleships, and crews fully trained in the intricacies of space warfare in just 8 years - that I could overlook (somewhat) to move the narrative forward. The action sequences were interesting and made the book hard to put down, but the story dragged through way too much sex & relationship drama for my tastes... especially for a sci-fi novel! (

I enjoyed this novel. It's a good Sci-fi space novel. The characters are decent and the plot is good, but it's a little predictable. (
