Welcome to the Dark Side by Cherise Sinclair

This story has some characters that got their stories in other books. Simon from the first Doms of Dark Haven and the brothers from the Mountain Masters books. This story is about Virgil, cousin to Kallie from Master of the Abyss. I didn't realize the Virgil was a dominant. This is a very emotional and engaging story. Ms. Sinclair writes such a wonderful story. She has packed a lot of emotion and character development in a very few pages. This would be a great afternoon read while sitting beside the pool.

WELCOME TO THE DARK SIDE by Cherise Sinclair

I was surprised the first time I read this story. I didn't think that we would get a story about any of Kallie's cousins (MASTER OF THE ABYSS), of course I had hoped there would be stories one day. This is Virgil’s, the oldest of the three brothers, story of discovery and love.

Virgil isn't sure he is happy finding out the he is a dominant. Being a policeman and a very protective man he isn't comfortable with the whole spanking and bondage thing that the Hunt brothers practice. He goes to Dark Haven to have a look around and try to come to terms with himself. He meets Summer Aragon, Summer is the sub that was so badly abused in the first DOMS OF DARK HAVEN BOOK, and he is instantly attracted to her. They play in the dungeon that night but Summer isn't ready to trust being alone with a Dom. These two do finally work out their differences and come together on a permanent basis.

I like Virgil in the first story. He is definitely a dominant, alpha male as well as being very loving and caring. It is wonderful to watch him find out about the side of himself that he has kept hidden all these years. Virgil also shows his patience and willing to allow Summer to have her job and independence. I think a lot of that is Kallie's doing.

I was glad to see that Summer was willing to try BDSM again after such a bad experience. I am not sure I would have been quite so brave. It is a slow journey for her to get to where she will trust Virgil enough to be alone with him but it makes that final surrender that much sweeter. Summer is a caring, loving and fierce woman. I liked her quite a bit.

This is a good short story that might have been great if it had been longer. Ms. Sinclair does do a good job of providing a history for these two and to build up their affection in such short order. There are several very hot play scenes and some very emotional ones as well. We also get a look at the three earlier couples which is very, very nice. As with all these stories here are the warnings there is anal play, toys, spanking and bondage in this story. There is also a calf roping (sub is the calf) scene, very cool. ( )
