Wow! Charlie West sure knows how to get into and out of trouble! This was a great conclusion to the Homelanders series. I really enjoyed the fast-paced action and incredible stunts that this teenage boy can do. I still think this would make a great action series or movie for teens.
The saying, “You never know how good you have it until you don’t” definitely applies to this series. Teens and adults go through day to day life and get bored, annoyed, upset, etc. And until we are suddenly taken out of our comfort zone, we don’t know how much we truly appreciated our life. I like the message that is conveyed throughout; God, faith, home, family, friends, country, love, forgiveness...I think there’s a lot of good to get out of this series along with the terrific action! ( )

Mr. Klavan brings this story to a rousing end complete with action packed chase scenes, a prison break, and a near disaster. To the end Charlie hangs on to the values that have been taught him, trying to figure out what is right when all choices look wrong, and being brave even when he thinks there is no hope. I wish there were more novels where faith was just a normal part of the characters life as portrayed here by the author. ( )

This book was a satisfying conclusion to the series. Like the previous books, it was action packed and would definately appeal to young male readers. ( )
