I think I may be getting used to Ms. Burcell's writing/plotting style. In Cold Case Gillespie has gotten bumped to Cold Cases (after all, she can't hurt anyone with stuff long forgotten, at least, that's the theory that her bosses are going by). She goes on her ex's current girlfriend's show to see if she can get a new lead or two regarding the murder of a young waitress and boy does she ever get a lead. Then the case turns from cold to hot and the shouting and running, etc. starts.

I was very happy that there was less Reid (her ex) in this novel. In the previous three his character gave me a rash every time he was on the page. and with every book I like Gillespie's partner Rocky more and more.

The Torrence and Gillespie characters also seemed less annoying to me and I really liked Torrence's IA partner Parrish.

All in all it was a multi faceted plot that was a definite page turner. ( )
