I liked this book..The trouble is I usually love medical emergency books and Carol Marinelli wrote the amazing Wife lost and found. I just did not like this book as much as I liked the others. I really could never connect with Ben. I understand he lost his wife but don't drag another woman into your heart when you can not love her the way that she needs to be loved. Enough said about that. This book was warming and definitely a Harlequin. I will read this author again soon!

Review: One Tiny Miracle by Carol Marinelli.

I don’t really go for to much romance but I got through this one and enjoyed the book.
It’s written in British English with terms by Australian characters which make the story interesting and entertaining. The book is considered a medical romance with some flashback trauma within the story plot. It was a heartwarming story but predictable.

Ben Richardson M.D. lost his wife, almost four years earlier, who was seven months pregnant with his daughter who he also lost and has been moving around a lot trying to ease his grief along the way. It wasn’t hard for Ben to find a job while moving around because he was an emergency room doctor.

Then Ben met Celeste on the beach where he rented a place that was run down and noisy. He never really knew how long he would settle anywhere. He found out that Celeste was a neighbor a few houses down from him. She was also about seven months pregnant, a nurse, and that they were both working at the same place. At first he didn’t know her background but after a few days of working together he found out that she wasn’t married and had no boyfriend.

For some reason Ben became concerned about her and the unborn child’s health. Ben became her friend and made it clear that he didn’t want a relationship and most of all he did not want children, especially someone else’s. He only wanted friendship however, the connection was their and he knew it but his flashbacks of his wife and the daughter he never got to hold was embedded in his mind. Slowly Ben noticed those memories started easing his conscience some and he was thinking of Celeste more and more.

Then the issue of being just friends causes some conflict between the two after Celeste had her baby prematurely. Ben didn’t hesitate to distant himself from Celeste and baby Willow acting like he didn‘t care to get involved anymore. He actually acted like he hated the baby and would not even hold her. Celeste felt his awkwardness when he was around the baby which brought more drama between them. However, she didn’t know the grief Ben had been carrying around with him for the past four years. Then the story starts to unfold with words said between them that caused friction enough that Celeste was moving back in with her parents who abandoned her through her pregnancy….There is more to the story but I’ll save the rest of the story for the next reader…..
