- The Ft. McKinley Branch Library was the first branch in the system to be built outside of the city limits, opening its doors in April, 1955. The land for the building was given by Elizabeth Bragdon Doren who, like her sister Electra C. Doren, proudly served the Dayton Public Library for many years. A plaque at the entrance honors her years of service.
