Take I-10 east past Tucson to Exit 304 at Benson. Go north on Occtillo Street, about 2.5 miles. Look for a cluster of mailboxes on the right side of the road, and you'll see a sign for Singing Wind Bookshop. Turn right and follow the dirt road about a half-mile. The bookstore is on the left. Hours: 9 a.m.-5 p.m. daily.

Singing Wind Bookshop is plunked in the middle of a cattle ranch just north of Benson. For more than 30 years, owner Winn Bundy has been running the store, which is attached to a ranch house.

A great bookstore devoted to history and the American Southwest.
