"David Drummond, when he first entered the trade, initially specialised in leisure bygones of the past which led to the coining of the name by which his business is best known. By the time he arrived in Cecil court in 1967 a theatrical background had encouraged the addition of memorabilia and literature associated with the performing arts. In addition to children’s toys and games he also began specialising in their books, with emphasis on those of the mid nineteenth to early twentieth centuries. Nostalgically he recalls window displays entirely composed of Henty or the drawings of Kate Greenaway.

Today the concentration is mainly on the performing arts including Theatrical History and Biography, Conjuring, Circus and all forms of Light Entertainment. An early member of the Ephemera Society his stock includes most areas within its orbit such as early Valentines and Christmas cards (well known seasonal features of his business), menus and theatrical playbills.

The shop is festooned with the ephemera of show business including famous performers of the past. An old theatrical postcard, playbill or programme might become an appropriate ‘first night’ gift." (Cecil Court)
