This is the municipal library of Montevallo, Alabama. It was founded in 1958 by women on the faculty of Alabama College (now the University of Montevallo) working with the city government. In 1974 the collection was destroyed in a fire. In 1984 the new library collection moved to a former telephone switching center, donated by the Parnell family, on Valley Street. In 1998 a library foundation formed to guide the expansion of the library.

The current library opened in 2007, with meeting rooms and a permanent theater for the Montevallo Main Street Players and other performers.
