Hi all!

I KNEW this group must exist, but it just occurred to me to search for it.

I was researching illustrations today by googling, and I found
http://www.surlalunefairytales.com/
where all varieties of tellings and re-tellings are documented. Yikes! What fun. She classifies them too, in some sort of order.

My suggestion is that a thread be started for each particular root fairytale, and people can add notes about the versions and re-makes as we go along. That would be a great treasure, don't you think?

Looking forward to some fun times here.

It's a wonderful resource. I've drop in on it occasionally when I need a fairy tale to sex up! XP

Reading more of the threads in this lovely group, I see that I'm not the first to recommend the surlalune website.

I'm glad to meet you all, and if I find my way into your shelves, don't be surprised.

I know I'm reviving a very old thread here but thanks so much for that link 2wonderY - I see myself spending a lot of time there (and probably a lot of money too, which is not so great)!

Great find! I have a class in Multiculturalism in Children's Literature and some of those books need to be mine =)
