From an operatic point of view the season starts brilliantly with Die Meistersingers (Bryn Terfel / WNO) on 17th July and Simon Boccanegra (Placido Domingo / Royal Opera) on the 18th.

On August 1st Simon Rattle conducts the OAE in Act II of Tristan and Isolde with Ben Heppner and Violeta Urmana and on August 31st we can hear the Glyndebourne production of Hansel and Gretel.

Not bad, eh?

The whole lineup isn't too shabby and I'm very much looking forward to the broadcast of Meistersinger on July 17th.
