Hello all,
I'm looking for picture book from/about Spain. I'm after (1) Books translated in English that are easily available but that are written or illustrated by Spanish authors/illustrators (2) books that are somehow culturally specific (and may or may not be available in English) (and these two criteria may not be mutually exclusive of course). Basically I want to learn more about Spanish picture books and am after recommendations for brilliant books that I might enjoy with my own kids. One book I've recently found is The Grey Boy (Contemporary Picture Books from Europe) by Lluis Farre, "Gusti", and Judith Willis

Thanks in anticipation,
Zoe

Hi Zoe,
You don´t say how old your kids are. Or just what you mean by a "picture book from/about Spain." Are you referring to children's books, travel stories, illustrated books for young people, adventure stories, comics? Or adapted classics of Spanish literature for children?
I don't have many children's books as such in my library but many original and translated books that are fit for starting someone in a fruitful reading habit.
Best regards,
Antonio

Hi Antonio,
My children are 2 and 5 but I guess I'm interested in books aimed at kids 0-10 which are heavily illustrated (ie every page) and relatively short (without chapters). Perhaps there is a prize of illustrated books in Spain that might be a place for me to start?
Thanks,
Zoe

Hi Zoe,

Visit this link

They suggest six levels of "reading" beginning from the very first day of birth!

Best regards,

Antonio
