janepriceestrada's Light in August review.

Regardless of your self-deprecation, janepriceestrada, I thought the review cogent and well-informed.

Well, I've already written two for Soldiers' Pay and Absalom, Absalom! and I'd like to continue do something on ALL of his books as I read them, but I've been distracted with another project the past few weeks, goin' real slow like.

1 - Thank you! I get easily distracted when writing reviews (or doing anything I think I 'have' to do) - get a snack, what's that noise outside, etc. So things always seem sporadic to me. I must say reading the discussions here helped immensely while reading – there were so many things I noticed that I don’t think I would have otherwise.

I especially liked what you said about the rhythm of a particular book, Jane. I have trouble "getting into" some books, too. I would probably benefit by starting over, as you say you do. But once I have picked up the rhythm, I hate to stall it by going back to the beginning!

4 - Thanks. I actually got started doing it one summer when I read Under the Volcano right after The Way of All Flesh. Those two really need about 3-7 days distance from each other.
